If you’re a fan of the Dr. Seuss tale, โHow the Grinch Stole Christmas!โ — whether it’s the book, the Boris Karloff-narrated 1966 animated version or the 2000 live-action film starring Jim Carrey, you’re going to be thrilled about what’s playing at the movies this holiday season!
Illumination Entertainment, the animated division of Universal Pictures, is releasing a 3D computer-animated version — simply titled: “The Grinch” — this November, which is narrated by Pharrell Williams as Benedict Cumberbatch takes on the voice of the iconic green Christmas grump.
Synopsis: The Grinch (Cumberbatch) and his loyal dog, Max, live a solitary existence inside a cave on Mount Crumpet. His main source of aggravation comes during Christmastime when his neighbors in Whoville celebrate the holidays with a bang. When the Whos decide to make Christmas bigger and brighter, the disgruntled Grinch realizes there is one way to gain peace and quiet. With help from Max, the green grump hatches a scheme to pose as Santa Claus, steal Christmas and silence the Whos’ holiday cheer once and for all.
If you’re familiar with the book and previous films, you know what to expect story-wise, but after watching the newly released final trailer, it’s clear that there is a fresh modern take on it.
