Tony Award-winner Kristin Chenoweth will star in her first Hallmark holiday movie this year with the Hallmark Hall of Fame presentation of “A Christmas Love Story,“ in which she leads alongside Scott Wolf. In the film, she plays a youth choir director who needs to write a song for the Christmas Eve show. You can expect a lot from this movie–Christmas spirit, a romantic love story, beautiful music, and if these early released production stills are any indication–a plethora of stylish holiday outfits!
One of the first stills released for the movie featured Kristin wearing a cozy grey and light blue J.Crew Jeweled Embellished Fair Isle Crewneck Sweater. I tracked it down immediately, but unfortunately, it was already sold out as it was from the winter line of a previous year.
• Similar: Some styles are just too unique, but J.Crew has a range of beautiful fair isle sweaters.
The second item I found from the movie was the beautiful winter white coat that Kristin’s character, Katherine, wears over a red evening dress. The exact coat is the GUESS Asymmetrical Wrap Coat, which was exclusively created for Macy’s and is still available in all sizes at Macys.com!
• Similar Style: GUESS makes a nearly identical version in both black and wine at Dillards.com, along with a similar white fit-and-flare coat at Haute Look.
In that same scene in the movie, as well as in the promotional photos, Kristin wears an ultra-festive silky red high-low evening dress with dazzling bead-embellished cap sleeves that looked divine on her petite frame. The exact dress is the Rare Editions Pearl Cap-Sleeve Mikado Hi-Low Dress, which is $70 at Dillards.com. (Important Note: The sizing for this dress is girls/youth.)
This dress was paired with silver Badgley Mischka ‘Palma’ Crystal Brooch Pump, which are still available in limited sizes and other colors at NordstromRack.com under $80.
In a scene in which Katherine and Greg (Wolf) chat in the snow, we see her dolled up in a wintry blue ensemble that’s completed with a purple tasseled tote bag. The exact bag is the Kate Spade New York Hayes Street Isobel Tote, although it doesn’t appear that her color is still available. You can find it in other colors Amazon–as well as a similar style/color at Nordstrom Rack.
Kristin was back in jolly red for another scene, but opted for more a subtle style with the Express Ruffle Elastic Waist Wrap Dress. The red dress recently sold out at Express.com, but there are limited sizes of the green version still available at this time of posting.
• Similar Style: You can find a surplice layered number at Macy’s!
For the Christmas Eve show, Katherine (Chenoweth) wears a breathtaking gold Ieena for Mac Duggal V-Neck Sequined Gown, in fact, it might be one of the most beautiful dresses ever worn on Hallmark. You can find this dress available at both Couture Candy and Madame Bridal, but it’s pretty pricey.
Update 12/10/19: After watching the movie, I have a few more items to add!
One of the most gorgeous looks in the whole movie got very little screen time and that was this stunning asymmetrically cut deep green velvet gown that Katherine wore for a holiday cocktail event.
The exact dress was the AQUA Velvet One-Shoulder Gown in Hunter, which is available exclusively at Bloomingdales.com for $258.
I simply can’t get over how perfect this dress is for the holiday season!
While rehearsing with her studios for the Christmas Eve pageant, Katherine wore a black and white plaid pencil skirt from Express that was brightened up with a festive pop of color thanks to her Antonio Melani Luxury Collection ‘Ruth’ Cashmere Ribbed Cap Sleeve Sweater in Candy Apple.
Is it really the holiday season if you don’t own at least one pair of Christmas pajamas?
Katherine gave us a glimpse of hers as she spent a late night working on her song while dressed in a pair of Gilligan & O’Malley Holly Berry Christmas Flannel Pajamas from Target! This exact style is currently sold out, but you can still get a very similar version at Target.com.
While working on the original song for the Christmas Eve performance, Katherine wears a festive green sweater with shimmering crystal button embellishments. The exact sweater was the J.Crew Crewneck Sweater with Jeweled Buttons, which is from an older season and, sadly, sold out.
You may actually remember Candace Cameron Bure wearing it for an unaired Hallmark Channel special last year. Get the look with an updated version from JCrew.com!
Every festive wardrobe needs a classic cable-knit sweater, and what says ‘Christmas’ more than a Santa-red one?! Kristin’s character wore the J.Crew Popcorn Cable-Knit Sweater, which is still available in limited sizes and colors at NordstromRack.com for $19.98–but they’re going quick!
There was no shortage of cute sweaters in this movie, and this rich teal v-neck that Katherine wore was no exception! She wore the Rag & Bone ‘Pamela’ Merino Wool V-Neck Sweater, available at both HauteLook.com and NeimanMarcus.com.
FYI: Torrey DeVitto wears this sweater in Hallmark’s “A Christmas Love Story” and Emmanuelle Chriqui wears it in Netflix’s “The Knight Before Christmas”–both in different colors.
This raspberry velvet blazer was a popular requested item but, unfortunately, her exact blazer from Antonio Melani was sold out at Dillard’s. Check out this lookalike version, right down to the button and pockets, from Yumi Kim for $138.
Katherine’s matching embellished ankle boots were from DSW, but you can ‘get the look’ with this great pair from Michael Kors.
“A Christmas Love Story” is airing all season long on Hallmark Channel
part of the 10th Anniversary of Countdown to Christmas!
Stay merry!
