As one of the Hallmark original new Christmas movies I was most looking forward to, “Write Before Christmas” starring Torrey DeVitto and Chad Michael Murray, did not disappoint! In the film, Jessica (DeVitto) sends Christmas cards to five people who have greatly impacted her life–one of which, gets received by the son (Murray) of her former teacher.

The story was great, the chemistry was bliss and the clothes were fabulous!

Valerie Halverson, the Costume Designer for the film, dressed Torrey in this Banana Republic ‘Melton’ Car Coat. Not only does she wear it for the official key art, her character also wears this look in the film with a plaid scarf.

While the coat is sold out, thankfully, BananaRepublic.com has a few similar styles still available.

If you’re a fan of the green sweater she wears underneath the red coat, the color was due to a little Photoshop, because it’s the navy, pink and white snowflake tunic that she wears in the movie.  This is the H&M L.O.G.G. Fair Isle Sweater Dress, which is actually from the children’s section.

This style has sold out, but H&M has a plethora of lookalikes every winter!

Speaking of sweaters!  Jessica wears a cable-knit in a gorgeous shade of dark green during in the movie that I love as it’s so classic and flattering.  The Elie Tahari one she wore is sold out, but I found a great lookalike with this GAP Cable-Knit Crewneck Sweater in Jewel Green.

Because you can never have too many sweaters, you might want to scoop up this super fabulous Rag & Bone ‘Pamela Merino’ Wool V-Neck Sweater, which comes in a solid array of colors–including this magenta. Buy it online at NordstromRack.com.

FYI: Kristin Chenoweth wears this sweater in Hallmark’s “A Christmas Love Story” and Emmanuelle Chriqui wears it in Netflix’s “The Knight Before Christmas”–both in different colors.

While practicing on her cello, Jessica wears a mixed media knit top by Joie that has sold out.

You can find a nearly exact look with this Ted Baker ‘Kaarina’ Pleated Neck Jumper in Dark Blue.

Everyone needs a go-to pair of Christmas jammies, and Jessica rocked hers twice in the film. She wore the pink Hatley Christmas Critters Cozy Pajama Set featuring little woodland creatures dressed in holiday gear. These are available at Hatley.com.

In addition to her pretty red coat, Jessica also wears a cozy grey Club Monaco ‘Darelle’ Coat with a purple Etereo cable-knit scarf.

Unfortunately, these are older items (Jen Lilley wore this coat in 2018’s “Mingle All the Way”) and therefore sold out, however, I found this similar ONLY ‘Sedona’ Coat and cable knit scarf on Amazon.

Fun Fact: Halverson also worked on “Christmas in Evergreen: Tidings of Joy” and styled Maggie Lawson in the same coat and scarf combo!

For Jessica’s Christmas dress, she wore a beautiful Cinq à Sept ‘Nofina’ Sleeveless Dress with a belted waist and flounce hem.  This dress is available at NordstromRack.com for $395.

Kimberley Shoniker, who plays Jessica’s friend Mimi, donned the cream Ever New ‘Daria’ Wrap Coat and added pops of color with a red bag and teal scarf. Sadly, this coat is sold out.

FYI: Andrea Brooks wore this same coat in 2018’s “Jingle Around the Clock”!
