Elizabeth Hendstridge and Ryan Paevey star as Jessica and Nick in the new Hallmark Christmas romance, “Christmas at the Plaza”, about two strangers who work together over the holidays at the iconic Plaza Hotel in NYC. I could get into the sweet details of the movie, but you should probably catch a re-airing as it plays on the Hallmark Channel all season long.

For this post, let’s talk fashion!  I caught up with costume designer, Charl Boettger, to get the scoop on some of the sweaters, coats and accessories worn — including coats worn for the official key art!

Elizabeth is wearing a grey marl The Fifth Label Interpretation Coat ($150, shopbop.com) that she also wears in the movie. Unfortunately, this coat takes a little hit when a hot drink gets spilled on it!

Ryan is wearing a dark Bugatti Classic Notch Coat, which is -unfortunately- sold out, although you can find a nearly identical coat from the same brand at SaksOff5th.com.

Early on in the movie, Jessica dresses up her white turtleneck and black trousers with a camel coat, once again, from The Fifth Label. Other than the pocket design, this coat is nearly identical to the grey coat she wears.  Since this exact design is sold out, check out ‘Interpretation Coat‘ in camel.

Jessica accessorizes her look with a Piper & Skye ‘Braemar’ Tote in Midnight Black Pirarucu.

For one of Nick’s first scenes, we see him in a Everyday Cashmere Crewneck Sweater ($118, jcrew.com) that was layered beneath a Columbia sherpa-lined puffer vest.

For another scene, Nick wears a J.Crew Men’s Mercantile Walker Jacket, which is available in his same olive green color as well as grey and blue at JCrew.com for $100.

One of my favorite pieces from Jessica’s wardrobe was this Wilfred ‘Lorin’ Alpaca-Blend Turtleneck Sweater in heather light grey, which features a tied waist. Jessica wore the sweater with the tie detail done up in the bow at the back!

Later on in the film, for the special Christmas event at the Plaza Hotel, Jessica wears a Calvin Klein 3/4 Sleeve Belted Sheath Dress in Aubergine, which is on sale at Dillards.com in a shade of navy.

Now, let’s talk about the ‘Ugly Christmas Sweaters’…

Nick takes Jessica to meet his family and the two end up staying for their annual ‘Ugly Christmas Sweater Party’!  Jessica borrows this Ugly Christmas Sweater Fireplace Pullover Sweater, which is currently available at Amazon.com.

Nick rocked a busy H&M Jacquard-Knit Sweater with a festive design of presents, candy canes, snowmen, snowflakes, Santa Claus and more! This sweater is $10 at HM.com.

Nick’s mother Lana, played by Wanda Cannon, wore the Tipsy Elves ‘Tacky Tinsel’ Ugly Christmas Sweater.  This actually comes from the Men’s Collection as the Women’s version is a cardigan, which was seen on Danica McKellar in Hallmark Channel’s “Christmas at Dollywood”.

Nick’s father, played by Tom Young, wore the Blizzard Bay Men’s Ugly Christmas Sweater Costume with a snowflake pattern, attached snowman tie and and suspenders.

A party-goer was seen wearing this This Is My Ugly Sweater from American Stitch, which you can buy online through Neiman Marcus’ Last Call website.

I spotted this party-goer wearing the Tipsy Elves Men’s Festive Reindeer Christmas Sweater, which I found on Amazon.com for $65.

Although it was kind of difficult to see, I spotted another attendee wearing an Ardene Ugly Christmas Mini Sweater Dress. This dress is on sale at Ardene.com.
