With film production being halted due to the COVID-19 global crisis, we certainly aren’t getting as much Christmas movie news as we usually would be during this time of year, which is why it was surprising to hear that Seth Rogen and Sarah Silverman are working on a holiday series project for HBO Max called “Santa, Inc.”. Then again, it is animated—but, don’t let that fool you into thinking it’s a family-friendly watch, because it’s been labeled ‘a Christmas-themed adult animated comedy series’.
The eight-episode half-hour series, written by showrunner Alexandra Rushfield, tells the story of ‘Candy Smalls (Silverman), the highest-ranking female elf in the North Pole. When the successor to Santa Claus (Rogen) is poached by Amazon on Christmas Eve, Candy goes for her ultimate dream โ to become the first female Santa Claus in the history of Christmas.’
