It’s been a very anxious and uncertain time lately, which makes the news of Betty White starring in an upcoming Christmas movie even more exciting!
Lifetime announced that the iconic actress, known for her roles in “Golden Girls”, “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and “Hot in Cleveland”, will lead an upcoming film — currently untitled — for their annual It’s a Wonderful Lifetime holiday programming. The network says the eight-time Emmy winner will play a character that ‘helps whip would-be Santas into shape, spreading the true meaning of Christmas and leading everyone to wonder: Is she secretly Mrs. Claus?’
In more It’s a Wonderful Lifetime news, Melissa Joan Hart will direct and star in “Feliz NaviDad” (working title) alongside Mario Lopez, who will play a widowed father whose daughter helps him rediscover the holiday spirit. The two actors previously starred in the network’s 2017 holiday romance “A Very Merry Toy Store”, which marked their first reunion since the ABC Family flick, 2007’s “Holiday in Handcuffs”.
Additionally, Kelly Rowland and Thomas Cadrot will reunite for Lifetime’s “A Merry Liddle Christmas Wedding”, the blissful holiday sequel to last year’s “Merry Little Christmas”.
These movies typically film in parts of the United States and Canada so, due to the current lockdown and social distancing guidelines in these areas, it’s unknown as to when production will get underway, but I’ll keep you posted as to when they’re officially underway.
Stay merry!
