Ho! Ho! Ho! Major holiday movie news has arrived!
In just 100 days Hallmark will kick off their iconic end of the year holiday programming event, and to celebrate, Crown Media has announced that there are 40 original Christmas movies on the way! Hallmark Channel‘s Countdown to Christmas will premiere 23 all-new original films while Hallmark Movies & Mysteries is set to air 17 all-new original movies for the Miracles of Christmas lineup.
Familiar faces like Candace Cameron Bure (“A Shoe Addict’s Christmas”), Lacey Chabert (“Christmas in Rome”), Andrew Walker (“Christmas On My Mind”), Alicia Witt (“Our Christmas Love Song”), Brennan Elliott (“Christmas at Grand Valley”), Holly Robinson Peete (“Christmas in Evergreen”), Laura Osnes (“A Homecoming for the Holidays”), Nikki DeLoach (“Two Turtle Doves”), Tamera Mowry-Housley (“A Christmas Miracle”), Luke Macfarlane (“The Mistletoe Secret”), Mark Taylor (“Memories of Christmas”), Michael Rady (“Christmas at Pemberley Manor”), Rukiya Bernard (“Christmas in Evergreen”) and Tyler Hynes (“The Mistletoe Secret”) are among the fan-favorites set to return for festive films, but there will also be many new stars you won’t want to miss either.
Sarah Drew (“Grey’s Anatomy”), Aaron Tveit (“Graceland”), Krystal Joy Brown (“She-Ra and the Princesses of Power”), Janel Parrish (“Pretty Little Liars”), Jeremy Jordan (“Supergirl”), Alvina August (“Nancy Drew”), Lucia Micarelli (“Treme”), Marisol Nichols (“Riverdale”), Mallory Jansen (“Shooter”), Rochelle Aytes (“S.W.A.T.”) and Ronnie Rowe (“Star Trek: Discovery”) will join the Hallmark family to lead Christmas movies this year! I’m happy to see that there will be more diversity.

In the film, Meg Reilly (Witt) is a talented pianist, singer and songwriter who no longer performs but shares her love of music with the voice students she teaches in the loft above her father’s (Hogestyn) music store on Christmas Tree Lane. The businesses along Christmas Tree Lane have struggled over the years and the area is slated to be razed by a developer. Meg leads the effort with other business owners to save it from the wrecking ball by planning festive, holiday activities to draw in crowds, culminating with a holiday concert on Christmas Eve. As plans take shape, romance blossoms between Meg and Nate (Walker), a businessman who recently relocated to the area and has a surprising tie to the developer that could end up being the Christmas miracle they need.

Megan Turner (Cahill) is in love with the past. As a tour guide at a beautiful historic mansion, she tells visitors about its original owner, Charles Whitley (Paevey). An inventor and businessman in the early 1900s, he rose from poverty to wealth…only to disappear without a trace. Charles was always intrigued by the future. He just never expected to go there. But when he repairs a mysterious clock he bought on his travels, he’s transported to the twenty-first century, with his home decorated for Christmas and overrun by strangers. Charles is determined to find a way back to his own era, especially when he learns about what happened after he left. But as Megan introduces him to the wonders of smartphones, pizza, and modern holiday traditions, they both feel a once-in-a-lifetime connection. Could it be that, somewhere in time, they belong together?
Christmas Doctor
Starring: Holly Robinson Peete
You can look forward to Christmas programming on the Hallmark Drama network along with Movies & Mistletoe — the library of Christmas content that will be available on the streaming service Hallmark Movies Now later this year. Stay tuned for more on that in the coming months.

Note: There is no official word on whether “A New Year’s Resolution”, starring Aimee Teegarden and Michael Rady, is set to air this December. The movie was filmed last year and slated for a 2019 premiere on Hallmark Channel, but was removed from the schedule shortly before it was due to air. Fingers crossed we will be able to watch it as we ring in 2021!

Will Danica McKellar be in any of the 2020 Hallmark Channel Christmas movies? I will be very disappointed if she’s not! Thank you!
I can’t imagine her not being part of the Christmas movies this year, but I don’t know for sure. I do know that there are several more movies that Hallmark has yet to announce, so stay tuned & #StayMerry!
