Well, this is something I wasn’t expecting! twenty one pilots did a surprise song release tonight in honor of the holiday season with their first official festive-themed single, “Christmas Saves the Year”. This tune was written and produced by lead singer Tyler Joseph — with the drum beats from band-mate Josh Dun added remotely.
The mid-tempo song is a very realistic holiday song this year as it touches on the longing of family wanting to be reunited during this difficult year, which is making the holidays extra hard on many families. While it might be a tad bit depressing… Christmas saves the year, and this song is definitely a must-hear. I’ve had it on repeat all day.
