There are several Hallmark Christmas movies from recent years past that have made their way to DVD, and I try to share the latest releases whenever possible.  Quite a few that debuted on the network between 2017-2020 started releasing on DVD between October and December, with a few on their way in June. Check out the list of movies below and see which ones you need to add to your movie collection right away!

We may get ’round-the-clock holiday films at the end of the year, but it’s never too early to enjoy your festive favorites. Which ones are you most excited about?!

After the announcement of Reba McEntire‘s upcoming Christmas movie earlier this month, I’m back with more holiday film news! It feels so nice to be reporting on Christmas movies again even though it hasn’t been that long since the holiday season.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Netflix has announced the upcoming LGBTQ-themed Christmas flick “Single All the Way”, starring Michael Urie, Philemon Chambers and Luke Macfarlane! The romantic holiday film, which is scheduled for a debut later this year, will be produced by Joel S. Rice.

The movie follows Peter (Urie), who is desperate to avoid his family’s judgment about his perpetual single status, and convinces his best friend Nick (Chambers) to join him for the holidays and pretend that they’re now in a relationship. But when Peter’s mother sets him up on a blind date with her handsome trainer James (Macfarlane) — the plan goes awry.

Earlier this week, HBO Max announced that the New Line comedy 8-Bit Christmas will be coming to their streaming service this holiday season, starring Neil Patrick Harris, Winslow Fegley, June Diane Raphael and Steve Zahn, and directed by Michael Dowse.

The movie, which is based off of the novel by Kevin Jakubowski who also penned the screenplay, is set in 1980s Chicago and follows a ten-year-old boy named Jake Doyle (Fegley) who sets out on a quest to get the latest and greatest video game system for Christmas.

Ho-Ho-Ho-Hooray!

It’s only March and we already have Christmas movie news for this year’s It’s A Wonderful Lifetime slate! Lifetime officially announced today that Reba McEntire has inked a two picture deal with the network that will include a holiday movie set to air in 2021 titled, “Christmas In Tune” (working title).

Synopsis: Christmas In Tune tells the story of Belle, a marketing executive who is worried she may lose her job. She decides to reunite a singing duo for a charity Christmas concert in order, but the problem is – the singers are actually her parents and they have not spoken to each other in years! Soon the at-odds couple is helping Belle get her life in order and she begins her own romantic duet with the new man in her life.

Christmas in Tune is written by Juliet Giglio and Keith Giglio and produced by Hartbreak Films with Paula Hart and McEntire serving as executive producers.

“Reba has been a creative force in both music and television for many years. We are thrilled to have her on board to produce and star in not just one – but two movies for us,” said Tanya Lopez, EVP of Movies, Limited Series & Original Movie Acquisitions, Lifetime and LMN. “Reba has been part of Lifetime’s air many years ago and we can’t wait to welcome her back!”

McEntire echoed Lopez’s sentiment stating, “I am thrilled to partner with Lifetime for a return to television movies! My fans and I enjoy their programming and loved watching the Reba show there for so many years.”

It’s been a very busy day, but I couldn’t close out the evening without acknowledging that we hit 300 Days Until Christmas today! It’s such a good feeling because I’ve been missing the holiday season… then again, I already miss it the day after Christmas is over.

It may be January, but Brittany Bristow isn’t quite finished with the Christmas season!

The actress, who previously starred in Hallmark’s Holiday Date, Christmas Next Door and Christmas At The Palace, has been on set in Canada filming the tentatively titled Loving Christmas.
