Jana Kramer has been filming a new Christmas movie this month and she’s been documenting the production through her Instagram! The Country singer and former “One Tree Hill” actress is starring in “Welcome Home Christmas” alongside Brandon Quinn, who was recently seen in the Netflix film “Sweet Magnolias”. As for their roles, it’s speculated that Jana will play the role of Chloe and Brandon will play a character named Michael.
Dolly Parton wants to help you ring in the holiday season with a brand new Christmas album, A Holly Dolly Christmas, which will also be Dolly’s first Christmas album in 30 years!
The new holiday album will feature renditions of festive classics as well as a few original songs; the iconic country artist wrote five songs by herself, with an additional co-write with Kent Wells, who also serves as producer for the album.
A Holly Dolly Christmas will include several duets with beloved artists, including: Miley Cyrus (“Christmas Is”), Billy Ray Cyrus (“Christmas Where We Are”), Willie Nelson (“Pretty Paper”), Dolly’s brother Randy Parton (“You Are My Christmas”), a cover of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” performed alongside Jimmy Fallon, and “Cuddle Up, Cozy Down Christmas” with Michael Bublé, which is set as the first single.

Getting casting announcements for Hallmark Christmas movies has been pretty rare this year, but today, I bring you news of an exciting pairing for an upcoming movie thanks to the sleuths at RyanPaevey.net. Apparently the movie that Ryan Paevey has been quarantining to film in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada is “A Timeless Christmas”, which is based off the book “A Timeless Christmas: An Enchanting Time Travel Romance” by Alexis Stanton.
It was speculated that Erin Cahill would be co-starring, and the actress confirmed it by responding to a tweet from a fan account with “Woohoo I love being part of the @hallmarkchannel family. Here’s to more Christmas magic! #Hallmarkies” (click here to see the tweet).

As we get closer and closer to the holiday season, Lifetime has given us a summer treat with a preview of their upcoming 2020 It’s A Wonderful Lifetimeprogramming slate…and it’s going to be the networks biggest year for Christmas! With 30 new movies and over 1200 hours of programming on the agenda, Lifetime is planning to go full-festive 24/7 from mid-October through December.
There will be many network favorites returning as well as some fresh faces, and the network is committed to include ‘diverse storytelling with its storylines, talent and characters,’ including their first LGBTQ-led Christmas movie, “The Christmas Setup” and a film centered on a Chinese-American Family in “A Sugar & Spice Holiday”, directed by Jennifer Liao and written by Eirene Donohue. Both movies are currently casting and go into production this month.
“We are thrilled to continue our legacy of creating a holiday destination that is welcoming to all at Lifetime,” said Amy Winter, EVP and Head of Programming, Lifetime and LMN. “With more new movies than any one cable network for streamer, I couldn’t be prouder of the incredible talent joining us in front of, and behind the camera, on these new holiday movies.”
As previously reported: Melissa Joan Hart and Mario Lopez are back for this year’s lineup; Hart will team up with Jason Priestley and Robin Givens for “Dear Christmas”, while Betty White will star in her own film, and Kelly Rowland will return for the sequel to the 2019 holiday hit “Merry Liddle Christmas”. Tiffany Haddish is set to executive produce “Christmas Unwrapped” led by Amber Stevens West, Marco Grazzini and Cheryl Ladd, and Tony® award winning actress Ali Stroker will lead her first Christmas movie in “Christmas Ever After”.
While a full programming report will be released in September, check out this sneak peek below!
IMPORTANT UPDATE (7/14/20): That’s 4 Entertainment announced on Twitter on 7/11/20 that they have officially postponed the Christmas Con California event to next year due to the pandemic. The new dates are June 25th-27th of 2021. Refunds are available if you can not make the event next summer, but if you can, hold onto your tickets as they will be valid for the new dates!
NEW UPDATE ALERT (04/05/21): With June 2021 being too soon for large gatherings in California, That’s 4 Entertainment announced that they will have to once again push Christmas Con back another year. The company posted today on Instagram that Christmas Con: California will now take place August, 5th-7th of 2022!
If you weren’t able to attend That’s 4 Entertainment’s first Christmas Con in New Jersey last year, and wanted to attend but you lived on the West Coast, you’ll be excited to know that Christmas Con is coming to California! The event was originally scheduled to be a fun-in-the-sun Christmas in July convention, but due to the current COVID-19 global crisis, they had to push the event to a later date.
Join your favorite actors from beloved Christmas movies (including a whole slew of Hallmark Channel stars!) for a jolly weekend of professional photo ops, special Q&As, and many more surprises, at the Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, California on August, 5, 6 & 7 of 2022*!
“Christmas Made to Order” star and “Cake Wars” host, Jonathan Bennett, will return as the official host, and his former “Mean Girls” co-star (and Hallmark Christmas movie princess), Lacey Chabert, will be the official headliner. Many of the actors that attended the 2019 event will also take part in the California event, so if you missed out on seeing them last year, here’s another chance!

Hey UK Christmas lovers, are you ready for some non-stop festive programming this holiday season to amplify your yuletide joy? The Sony Movie Christmas channel is returning to the UK beginning on September 10, 2019 and will run Christmas movies 24/7 through January 2020!
Yes, you read that correctly. Over 3 months of Christmas movies… non-stop.
Formerly known as True Christmas, the station will include classics as well as modern favorites, such as: “Elf”, “The Holiday”, “Home Alone”, “Love Actually”, “Christmas with the Kranks”, “Holiday Road Trip”, “Defending Santa”, and “The Polar Express.”
There will even be some films that have previously been shown on Hallmark, such as “Moonlight & Mistletoe” (2008) starring Candace Cameron Bure and Tom Arnold.
If that wasn’t enough to fuel your cheer, you can also look forward to themed weekends with slates of films fit for Bah Humbug, Christmas Animals, Christmas Comedy, and Santa Sunday.
The Sony Movie Channel is available on Freeview 50, Sky 319, Virgin 424 and Freesat 303.
There’s been a lot of development in recent months regarding Hallmark Drama’s first original series, “Christmas Cookie Matchup”, a holiday reality competition — and earlier today, SouthernLiving.com exclusively announced the two judges that will join the show.
In “Christmas Cookie Matchup”, Jack Wagner will host as amateur baker contestants team up with cast members from Hallmark Channel’s “When Calls the Heart” to create tasty holiday treats with their eye on a $25,000 winning prize! Hearties will be excited to know that stars Erin Krakow, Pascale Hutton, Chris McNally, Paul Greene, Kavan Smith, Kevin McGarry, and Andrea Brooks will all take part of the competition.
As for the judges, food and lifestyle expert Chadwick Boyd will be joined by self-taught baking expert, Emily Hutchinson. Boyd is known for traveling nationally with chef Carla Hall for their “Biscuit Time” class while Hutchinson has been sharing creative tips with fellow bakers through her popular blog The Hutch Oven. Hutchinson’s new book, Creative Cookie Decorating: Buttercream Frosting Designs and Tips for Every Occasion, doesn’t release until October 15th — but it’s already a best seller in Amazon pre-sales.
A premiere date for “Christmas Cookie Matchup” is not yet set, but I’ll keep you posted!
