There’s a story behind the special, and here’s the official synopsis: Faced with a holiday cheer crisis, the North Pole knows there’s only one person who can save the day: Santa’s great friend Mariah Carey. The Queen of Christmas, Mariah Carey, creates a fabulous and star-studded spectacular to make the whole world merry!
Guest superstars include: Tiffany Haddish, Billy Eichner, the Peanuts gang, Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, Snoop Dogg, Jermaine Dupri, Misty Copeland and Mykal-Michelle Harris. Extra special appearances are also made by Carey’s twins, Moroccan and Monroe.
TV One will not be skipping the Yuletide cheer this year, but they do have a dilemma… a “Christmas Dilemma,” a new festive original holiday film — which marks the first project directed Essence Atkins, about a newlywed couple struggling to decide which set of in-laws to spend their first Christmas with.
Christmas Dilemma stars BJ Britt (Being Mary Jane, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Brittany Hall (Ballers, Satisfaction), Carl Anthony Payne II (Martin, 5th Ward), and Christopher B. Duncan (Black Lightning, The Jamie Foxx Show).
R&B singer Tinashe gave fans an early holiday gift today when she announced her new Christmas Ep, Comfort & Joy on Twitter and Instagram today! This new record, which features renditions of festive classics like “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” and the pop favorite — Wham!’s “Last Christmas”, hopes to bring some cheer and comfort to fans this year.

The nostalgia is strong with the festive news today… Disney Mouseketeers have reunited to release a Christmas album! Former cast members from all seven seasons of Disney’s “All-New Mickey Mouse Club”, which aired on the Disney Channel from 1989–1994, have joined forces once again to bring some cheer and support a few good causes with the joyful LP, Why? Because It’s Christmas.
The MMC’89 Mouseketeers, including Dale Godboldo, Nikki DeLoach, Tony Lucca, Nita Young, Jennifer McGill, Rhona Bennett, Mylin, and TJ Fantini, partnered with MusiCares® (assisting those who work in the music industry during difficult times) and The Brave of Heart Fund (offering financial support to families of healthcare workers) to create the LP, which was recorded amid the pandemic and will benefit those severely affected.
Morris Day is bringing the holiday cheer this year!
The R&B Funk-Soul icon, known for leading the music group The Time since the early 1980s, is bringing a little funk to Christmas with his new festive single, “Cooler Than Santa Claus,” which is actually his first-ever holiday single — and it only took a day to record!
Country music superstar Thomas Rhett and his his wife, philanthropist Lauren Akins, are hosting the 11th annual “CMA Country Christmas” this month! The beloved holiday special will feature a star-studded lineup of performers singing festive classics, including Rhett, Kelsea Ballerini, Gabby Barrett, Dan + Shay, Florida Georgia Line, Lady A, Little Big Town, Tim McGraw, and Darius Rucker with Lindsey Stirling.
This will be a television hosting debut for the couple, who will be joined by their three daughters during the show. Given the current state of the world, this will be the first time the show is filmed without a live audience, but instead with a throwback to nostalgic holiday specials of the past.
“The idea for this year’s show was to do a throwback of the great Christmas specials of the 1960s and 1970s,” says Robert Deaton, executive producer. “Andy Williams, Perry Como, Bing Crosby, Judy Garland and Frank Sinatra all had classic Christmas specials where the viewer was invited into the homes of the host to celebrate the holiday like a best friend coming to visit. That was what we wanted to create for this year’s show. Instead of a big flashy production, we took a page from those iconic specials to say, ‘Come relax, and let’s celebrate the holiday together.'”
“CMA Country Christmas” will premiere on Monday, November 30th at 9pm/8c on ABC. If you miss the original airing, this program will be available for a limited time On Demand and on Hulu.
