So much has changed this year, but there are a few things that stay merrily the same… and CBS is doing their part to keep tradition alive in our homes this holiday season!   Their beloved lineup returns with the “CBS Thanksgiving Day Celebration” highlighting Thanksgiving parades past, and you can count on the following weekend to be filled with your favorite animated classics like “Frosty the Snowman”, “The Story of Santa Claus” and “Robbie the Reindeer”.  The network will also premiere a brand-new holiday special from country music icon Dolly Parton.

Missing from the lineup? The annual “Home for the Holidays” special, which doesn’t seem to be airing due to the pandemic, and I don’t recall a mention of there being a virtual angle for it this year.

Additionally, there was no mention of the treasured “I Love Lucy Christmas” special this year, but I’ll keep you posted should it get added to the schedule.

We’re not event a week into November and it’s already been filled with lots of holiday television programming announcements. Freeform kicked the month off with their lineup while ABC revealed their holiday specials this morning, and now CBS has unveiled what they have planned for the most festive time of the year!

The network will air their own iconic Thanksgiving Day Parade coverage along with the annual Kennedy Center Honors, and you can also expect to laugh along with Lucy, Ricky, Ethel and Fred with the traditional colorized presentation of the classic “I Love Lucy Christmas Special” episode.

Idina Menzel will be joined by Adam Lambert, Ne-Yo and Kelly Rowland as she hosts the 21st annual “A Home for the Holidays” special, and you won’t want to miss the beloved classics: “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”, “Frosty the Snowman”, “The Story of Santa Claus” + lots more!

For the first time ever on cable, Freeform will air the beloved classics “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “Frosty the Snowman” this holiday season during the annual “25 Days of Christmas” programming event.

These iconic fan-favorites, from the Rankin Bass classic holiday library, were highly requested last year, so they will be a nice addition to the other titles “Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town” and “The Little Drummer Boy”, which have aired during previous years.

Freeform’s 25 Days of Christmas begins December 1st!
