So much has changed this year, but there are a few things that stay merrily the same… and CBS is doing their part to keep tradition alive in our homes this holiday season!   Their beloved lineup returns with the “CBS Thanksgiving Day Celebration” highlighting Thanksgiving parades past, and you can count on the following weekend to be filled with your favorite animated classics like “Frosty the Snowman”, “The Story of Santa Claus” and “Robbie the Reindeer”.  The network will also premiere a brand-new holiday special from country music icon Dolly Parton.

Missing from the lineup? The annual “Home for the Holidays” special, which doesn’t seem to be airing due to the pandemic, and I don’t recall a mention of there being a virtual angle for it this year.

Additionally, there was no mention of the treasured “I Love Lucy Christmas” special this year, but I’ll keep you posted should it get added to the schedule.

Much like every other network, The CW has announced their seasonal slate of upcoming holiday specials to celebrate the ‘most wonderful time of the year’! Among the line up, a Penn & Teller magical special, iHeartRadio’s annual Jingle Ball concert, the 2019 Hollywood Christmas Parade, holiday-themed episodes of the network’s top shows, and of course, a re-airing of the animated classic, “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer”. Dynasty | Friday, Friday, November 22, 9-10 p.m.
“Shoot from the Hip”: As the family prepares for their Thanksgiving celebration, Blake (Grant Show) asks that Adam (Sam Underwood) and Cristal (Daniella Alonso) put an end to their constant bickering; Fallon (Elizabeth Gillies) focuses on her new project; Culhane (Robert Christopher Riley) wants Dominique (Michael Michele) to disclose important information.

Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer | Friday, November 29, 8-9 p.m.
Based on the hit song that became a worldwide holiday phenomenon, this goofy and heartwarming adventure features young Jake Spankenheimer on the quest of a lifetime to track his missing Grandma down on Christmas Eve to prove that Santa Claus is indeed real. Michele Lee (“Knots Landing”) provides the voice of Jake’s greedy Cousin Mel and recording artist Elmo Shropshire provides the narration. An encore presentation of GRANDMA GOT RUN OVER BY A REINDEER will air on Wednesday, Dec. 18 (8:00-9:00pm ET).
