NBC is wasting zero time kicking off the holiday season!  The network has revealed its holiday programming slate already, and it includes a lot of traditions like the beloved “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade” coverage, “Christmas in Rockefeller Center,“ and airings of the classics “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” and “It’s A Wonderful Life”.  NBC will also re-air its Michael Bublé and Kelly Clarkson music specials from last year in addition to the premiere of the highly anticipated movie, “Dolly Parton’s Mountain Magic Christmas” starring iconic country music legend as well as Miley Cyrus, Willie Nelson, “Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon and many others.

Speaking of Cyrus, last year’s inaugural “Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party” was such a hit that it will return this New Year’s Eve, and the singer will be joined by an A-list cast of musicians and celebrities in front of a live audience.

Get in the spirit of the season with Maya Rudolph and Amy Poehler for their “Baking It” holiday special, which will coincide with season two of the baking competition series that will air exclusively on the Peacock streaming service.

Great ready to sing the songs of the season with Michael Bublé – aka Mr. Christmas himself – as he rings in the holidays with “Michael Bublé’s Christmas in the City”, an hour-long NBC variety special that will celebrate the 10th anniversary of his iconic chart-topping album, “Christmas”!

Accompanied by a 48-piece orchestra for renditions of beloved holiday songs, the television event will feature a star-studded guest list participating in both performances and comedy sketches with the multi-Grammy award-winning artist, including: Leon Bridges, Camila Cabello, Jimmy Fallon, Kermit the Frog and Hannah Waddingham.

Kelly Clarkson will lead her first NBC holiday special tonight, “Kelly Clarkson Presents: When Christmas Comes Around,“ to celebrate the season and support the Grammy and Emmy winner’s latest Christmas album.

The musical spectacular will feature special guests Leslie Odom Jr., Ariana Grande, Brett Eldredge, Jay Leno, Melissa McCarthy, Amy Poehler, and the one-and-only Santa Claus as well as some special everyday heroes with life-changing surprises.

On the heels of the successful “Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem” limited series, Alison Sweeney returns to Salem to reprise her 25+year role as Sami Brady for the very first “Days of our Lives” spin-off movie! The fan-favorite troublemaker will be seen in “Days of Our Lives: A Very Salem Christmas,“ which is set to exclusively debut on Peacock, the NBC subscription streaming service on Thursday, December 16th.

In the Peacock Original holiday movie, Will Horton (played by Chandler Massey) writes a screenplay before his Christmas Eve deadline. Using everyone’s favorite feel-good holiday movie tropes, he creates a festive story based on his family and friends in Salem — but with several twists and turns you’ll never see coming.

The full lineup for all of the programming coming to NBC and the network’s streaming service, Peacock, this holiday season is here! From classic favorites and traditional events to brand-new specials, there’s something to enjoy from November until the new year!

Among NBC’s offerings is the iconic “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade” and “Christmas at Rockefeller Center” specials, and the network presentation of “Annie LIVE!” starring Harry Connick Jr., Nicole Scherzinger, Tituss Burgess, Jane Krakowski, Taraji P. Henson, and Celina Smith as Annie. You can also look forward to holiday episodes from comedies like “Young Rock”, “KENAN” and “Mr. Mayor”.

Kelly Clarkson and Michael Bublé are also set to embrace the sounds of the season with musical specials while Jimmy Fallon‘s bestselling children’s book, “5 More Sleeps ‘Til Christmas”, gets turned into a primetime animated special.

Original programming is also coming to the Peacock streaming service, including the premieres of the original movie “The Housewives of the North Pole” starring Betsy Brandt and Kyle Richards, and the holiday competition series “Baking It” from executive producer Amy Poehler.

NBC 4 New York/WNBC is offering a very exciting opportunity to a local youth choir this holiday season. Starting this week, and running until Saturday, October 23rd, local choirs can enter for the chance to sing at the annual Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting this year.

“WNBC has created a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the youth of our community. Performing on the world’s holiday stage during our ‘Christmas in Rockefeller Center’ is an experience unlike any other and we are excited to offer this to one lucky youth singing group from our area,” said Eric Lerner, President and General Manager of NBC 4 New York.

Competition entries will be accepted at nbcnewyork.com/choir — and the winning choir will be announced in November on NBC’s “The Kelly Clarkson Show”.

Specific holiday singing competition rules include:

• The contest is restricted to participants residing within WNBC’s viewing areas in New York, New Jersey, Fairfield County, Connecticut and Pike County, Pennsylvania.
• Singing groups must have a minimum of 10 members and a maximum of 35 members.
• All entrants must be between the ages of 6 and 18 years of age.
• Entrants can submit a video performance of any holiday-themed song, up to 3 minutes long.

Entrants chosen for a second round:

• Will be required to submit formal parental consent to proceed in the process.
• Will be asked to perform and submit an original, :90 second performance of “Silent Night”, “Joy to the World” or “Up on a Housetop.”
• The winning choir will be required to comply with all current COVID-19 protocols.

NBC is getting into the holiday spirit this year with “Baking It”, a six-episode holiday competition series from the creators of the successful crafting competition show “Making It” and executive producer Amy Poehler and her Paper Kite Productions.

Emmy award-winning actor, producer and musician Maya Rudolph (“Saturday Night Live”) and Golden Globe and Emmy award-winning actor and producer, Andy Samberg (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine”) are set to host the festive fun.

In the series, eight teams of two talented home bakers will join Maya and Andy’s winter cabin for a celebration of culinary holiday traditions, which will be judged by four real-life grandmothers who are bakers themselves… talk about some tough critics!

The contestant partners will be made up of spouses, siblings, friends and more, and they will work together to create sweet and savory unique dishes for themed challenges in the hopes of winning an joyful cash prize.

Peacock has announced “The Real Housewives of the North Pole”, an original movie coming to the NBC streaming service this holiday season that will star Betsy Brandt (“Breaking Bad,” “Soulmates,” “Life in Pieces”) and Kyle Richards (“The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” “Halloween”).

Directed by Ron Oliver, the movie follows the Christmas Queens of North Pole, Vermont, Trish (Richards) and Diana (Brandt), who have won the Best Holiday House decorating competition every year for the past nine years. But days before Christmas, a friendship-ending argument sparks a town-wide feud and draws the attention of a national magazine writer hoping to make a name for herself with her scintillating expose titled, “Real Housewives of the North Pole.”

NBC made an announcement today regarding their fall lineup, including news on upcoming debut shows, special events and, yes, their highly-anticipated holiday programming slate.

The network will continue their musical tradition with the seven-time Tony Award winner “Annie Live!”. The 95th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will air November 25th, Thanksgiving Day, and the beloved “Christmas at Rockefeller Center” special will also return with the lighting of this year’s Christmas tree.

Comedian and talk show host Jimmy Fallon is set produce the animated special “Five More Sleeps ‘Til Christmas,“ based on his best-selling children’s book. Additionally a new animated special, “Trolls: Holiday in Harmony,“ arrives from DreamWorks Animation.
