Olivia Holt (“Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger”) has been announced as the lead for the upcoming Freeform movie, “Turkey Drop”, a Thanksgiving film slated for the network’s Kickoff to Christmas event.
In the Jerry Ciccoritti-directed film, when college freshman Lucy Jacobs (Holt) returns home for Thanksgiving break, she suspects she’s about to get turkey dropped—dumped by her high school sweetheart—during their holiday visit. To avoid a Turkey Day travesty, Lucy gets out of her comfort zone, proving she’s not the same play-it-safe girl she was with her high school boyfriend. As she takes control of her own life and makes choices that put herself first, she learns to let go of what’s been holding her back, helping achieve what she truly wants out of life.
The movie is set to premiere the Saturday before Thanksgiving, November 23rd at 9pm/8c during Freeform’s Kickoff to Christmas holiday programming event.
“Turkey Drop” is written by Tiffany Paulsen and produced by Jonas Prupas and Shane Boucher with executive producers Joel S. Rice and Lydia Storie of Muse Entertainment and Heroes and Villains Entertainment‘s Henry Huang.
Update 09/12/19: Cheryl Hines (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”), Ben Levin (“Legacies”) and Tyler Perez (“LA’s Finest”) have all joined the cast! Hines will play Lucy’s vivacious, fun and outspoken mother, Nancy Jacobs while Levin will star as Dean, a longtime family friend crashing the Jacobs family Thanksgiving, and Perez will portray Jordan, Lucy’s high school sweetheart.
Stay merry!
