It’s the most magical time of the year!

Bask in the Christmas cheer, merry music and a lot of Disney magic by watching the annual Disney Parks specials on ABC this holiday season. Derek Hough and Julianne Hough return to hosting duties for “The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration” airing on Sunday, November 27th, and they will be joined on Christmas morning, Sunday, December 25th, by Freeform’s Sherry Cola (Freeform’s “Good Trouble”) and Marcus Scribner (“grown-ish”) to co-host the “Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade”.

The specials were, once again, filmed on location at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Resort in California, and will feature festive performances from some of your favorite names in music, including Black Eyed Peas, Maren Morris, Becky G, Chloe Flower, Jordin Sparks, Meghan Trainor, David Foster, Katharine McPhee, Il Volo, Ne-Yo, and RUN DMC!

Wake up to magic on Christmas Day, and I’m not just talking about what’s under the tree…but about what will be on TV!  Tituss Burgess and Julianne Hough are hosting the “Disney Parks Magical Christmas Celebration” on Friday, December 25th – aka Christmas morning – on ABC straight from Walt Disney World Resort in Florida!

Unlike the many previous years, there will not be a parade due to the pandemic, but that won’t put a damper on the Disney magic we expect to see. This year’s iteration will feature merry musical performances from Becky G, Tori Kelly, Trevor Jackson, Jon Batiste and more from locations all over the parks (see the full lineup below), a special appearance from Emmy® Award-winning actor Keegan-Michael Key, and social moments with TikTok creator Alex Ojeda.

The special will also spotlight heartwarming family stories, Disney Cast Member highlights, a look into the Disney Dreamers Academy and more festive surprises… including beloved Disney characters, of course.  What’s Christmas at Walt Disney World without Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, and all of their friends?

The holidays are a lot different this year, but leave it up to Disney to still find a way to bring some magic into your homes! With the Disney Parks on limited capacity guidelines for the past several months, and Disneyland in California still closed, the year’s Wonderful World of Disney Magical Holiday Celebration does not feature new performances live from the theme parks, but instead, memorable performances from holiday’s past!

In this special 5th anniversary edition of the annual event, which airs every Thanksgiving night, Emmy® Award-winning siblings Derek and Julianne Hough return for hosting duties at Disneyland alongside Trevor Jackson of Freeform’s “Grown-ish”, who is joining them from Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.  The Houghs have also planned a brilliant opening performance before the team gets into featuring festive flashbacks of performances by Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel, Kelly Clarkson, Jason Derulo, Ciara, Andrea Bocelli, OneRepublic, Pentatonix, Becky G, Shaggy, Boyz II Men and JoJo, Meghan Trainor and Brett Eldredge, and Aloe Blacc.

There’s nothing like some magical Disney Christmas news to start your day!

Chatter sparked on Twitter earlier this month when Jordan Fisher (“Dancing with the Stars Juniors”) and Sarah Hyland (“Modern Family”) both tweeted about hosting the annual Christmas celebrations for Disney this holiday season, and now the 411 on each of the event has been released–and I have it all here for you!

ABC and Disney Channel will take over the ‘most wonderful time of the year’ with star-studded TV specials as Disney Parks and Disney Cruise Line transform into festive winter wonderlands to bring the magic of Disney straight into your living rooms this season.  Celebrations are set to air on the ABC Network and Disney Channel on two different nights before ABC airs the magical parade on Christmas morning, a treasured tradition in homes across the nation.

Not only will Fisher and Hyland be hosting the festivities, but we’ll see performances from Gwen Stefani, Meghan Trainor, Brett Eldredge, Andrea Bocelli, Aloe Blacc, Olivia Holt, Maddie Poppe, Why Don’t We, and many more!
