For the past few weeks, Ryan Cooper and Katie Leclerc have been in Massachusetts filming an upcoming Christmas movie titled “A Sweet Romance”. Cooper and Leclerc will play Charlie Blanchard and Emily White, respectively, in the holiday rom-com about raising money through an ice cream flavor contest (‘Christmas a la mode’, anyone?) to save a family farm.

According to Telegram.com, the plot is centered around ‘Emily (Leclerc), a young dairy farmer who made a promise to her dying father that she would keep their farm afloat and in the family. But the bills are piling up, and Emily’s sister Dorothy, who lives in New York City, appears one day and wants to sell the farm. Charlie (Cooper), a NYC investment banker, will handle the deal. Charlie, however, has a fondness for family businesses and for ice cream. He helps Emily devise a crowdfunding plan and the ice cream flavor contest to raise the money to save the farm. Charlie also develops a fondness for Emily.’ Jen Ellis also stars.

Judging by the latest Instagram posts from Cooper (see below!), it seems that the movie has wrapped production. I’m not sure what network it’s for but, given Leclerc’s past co-leading role on Freeform’s “Switched at Birth”, I wouldn’t be surprised to see it as part of the network’s holiday programming.
