For the fifth installment in the “A Cinderella Story” movie series, we’re heading into the holiday season for a modern retelling of the classic fairytale with an enchanting festive twist, “A Cinderella Story: Christmas Wish”!

Laura Marano (Disney’s “Austin and Ally”, “The Perfect Date”) stars as Kat Decker, an aspiring singer-songwriter with big dreams of a successful career, but her goals are stalled by her stepmother and two stepsisters. While Kat works a seasonal job as a singing elf at a Christmas fair, she finds herself falling for the handsome Dominic ‘Nick’ Wintergarden (Gregg Sulkin, “Marvel’s Runaways”, “Faking It”) — who takes on the job of Santa Claus at the local Christmas tree lot.

Louisiana’s largest daily newspaper, The Advocate, recently announced that production had begun in New Iberia for an upcoming Lifetime holiday movie, tentatively titled “Christmas on the River”. The festive flick will star former “One Tree Hill” star-turned-Country singer, Jana Kramer and Percy Daggs III from “Veronica Mars”.

Kramer’s character returns home to New Iberia for Christmas and attends the 50th annual Christmas Sugarcane Festival, where a young woman and man are traditionally crowned ‘King’ and ‘Queen’ of the event each year. For the milestone anniversary, all former ‘royalty’ return to celebrate — including Kramer and Daggs’ characters, which launches a holiday love story.

Earlier this month, BroadwayWorld.com announced the possibility that an adaptation of the classic Charles Dickens’ tale, “A Christmas Carol”, would be coming to the Broadway stage this holiday season — and now, it’s official!

If you’ve been following this holiday blog along for awhile, then you might remember reading about the upcoming holiday rom-com “Last Christmas” — starring Henry Golding (“Crazy Rich Asians”) and Emilia Clarke (HBO’s “Game of Thrones”), and co-starring Michelle Yeoh and Emma Thompson.

Official Synopsis: Kate (Emilia Clarke) harumphs around London, a bundle of bad decisions accompanied by the jangle of bells on her shoes, another irritating consequence from her job as an elf in a year-round Christmas shop. Tom (Henry Golding) seems too good to be true when he walks into her life and starts to see through so many of Kate’s barriers. As London transforms into the most wonderful time of the year, nothing should work for these two. But sometimes, you gotta let the snow fall where it may, you gotta listen to your heart … and you gotta have faith.

I saw a tweet the other day from Bryan Greenberg (“The Mindy Project”, “One Tree Hill”) about filming in Oahu, Hawaii for a month, and it didn’t take long to find out what project it is that he’s working on… it’s a Christmas movie!

Deadline announced yesterday that both Greenberg and Charles Michael Davis (“Younger”, “For the People”, “The Originals”) will join Lea Michele in the upcoming ABC holiday movie, “Same Time, Next Christmas” — which is currently filming in Hawaii.

I logged onto Twitter late last night to see a trending topic was the news of a “Home Alone” reboot!

Naturally, I had to read what this was all about.  According to the account @getFANDOM, now that The Walt Disney Company has acquired 20th Century Fox, Disney CEO, Bob Iger, announced reboots and reimaginings for Disney+ (Disney’s upcoming streaming service) including: “Diary of a Whimpy Kid”, “Cheaper by the Dozen”, “Night at the Museum”, and “Home Alone”.

Many Christmas tales get retold just as classic Christmas carols are sung by many different singers, but there’s something about certain films that I just can not imagine being told differently. “Home Alone” always felt like one of those ‘untouchable’, for lack of a better word, holiday films.

I mean, who could play Kevin McCallister quite like Macaulay Culkin?

Fans of Freeform’s “The Fosters” spin-off series, “Good Trouble” are in for a ‘good’ holiday season as PEOPLE announced today that the hit show would have a two-hour holiday special airing this season, entitled: “Christmas at the Coterie”. The series follows adoptive sisters Callie (Maia Mitchell) and Mariana (Cierra Ramierz) as they move to Los Angeles to start their first jobs post-college.

“We haven’t done a holiday episode yet and the idea of Christmas at the Coterie not only rolls off the tongue — but what’s a communal Christmas look like?” executive producer and co-creator Joanna Johnson told PEOPLE. “With everyone celebrating the holidays with their own traditions? Do they collide or commingle?”

ABC officially announced today that reality competition series, “The Great American Baking Show: Holiday Edition” will return to the network this holiday season with hosts, Spice Girl and television personality, Emma Bunton and former NFL Chicago Bears defensive tackle, Anthony “Spice” Adams.

The series, which is based on the U.K hit “The Great British Baking Show,”will once again showcase bakers from around the country putting their best sweet and savory creations forward as they compete in holiday-themed challenges and eliminations all hoping to be named “America’s Best Amateur Baker.”

The fifth season will also see the return of Award-winning pastry chef Sherry Yard and expert baker Paul Hollywood as the two judge the delicious and festive treats the baking contestants will create while also providing advice and commentary on the technique and skill.

The new season of “Great American Baking Show: Holiday Edition” will air in December, however an exact date has yet to be confirmed.

It’s only the first day of August, and we already have news on FOUR upcoming Christmas movies! Earlier today I told you about Ryan Paevey, Paul Greene, Autumn Reeser and Jesse Metcalfe‘s latest holiday films, and now I have one more festive flick for you from “Grey’s Anatomy” alum Sarah Drew and Ryan McPartlin (“L.A.’s Finest”).

For the past week, the two actors have been posting photos from the Toronto set of their Christmas movie, “Twinkle All the Way”, which can be seen later this year on the Lifetime network as one of the 28 original premieres coming to their annual It’s A Wonderful Lifetime holiday programming.

Mariah Carey and Christmas music go together like peppermint and hot cocoa, let’s be real. The instant-classic “All I Want for Christmas Is You”, an extremely festive pop song co-written and produced by Carey from her 1994 “Merry Christmas” album, is a staple during the holiday season; it reclaims at top spot on the music charts, it’s played in nearly every department store, it’s on heavy radio rotation, it’s a top karaoke number at any holiday party, and it just happens to be one of the best selling Christmas songs of all time.

This year marks 25 years since the release of “Merry Christmas”, a milestone anniversary that’s also the same date of Christmas Day — which has lead to much speculation that the singer will release a new album or, at least, new holiday music to celebrate this year.

Additionally, Carey has been posting photos recently on Instagram from her time at the recording studio. I haven’t actually seen a confirmation anywhere online (or in an interview), but I have seen comments from members of “The Lambily” (that’s what M.C. nicknamed her fanbase) stating that she’s recording a new festive record.

Could it just be wishful thinking? Maybe. Although, I really do hope it’s true.

In the meantime, if you have plans to head to Las Vegas, Nevada this fall, make sure you scoop up a pair of tickets to see Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” Concert, which are currently on sale at MariahCarey.com/tour. She’ll perform five shows between November 22nd – November 30th at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
