As we usher in November, we can celebrate the fact that we’re just weeks away from the 96th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, a time-honored tradition that helps welcome the holiday season. This iconic festive morning event will feature extravagant helium balloons floating in the sky and whimsical floats gliding down the streets of New York City while marching bands and other top talent put on show-stopping performances along the way, and you won’t want to miss appearances from the Radio City Rockettes® and, the one-and-only, Santa Claus!

“Today” show anchors Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb and Al Roker will return to host the three-hour telecast; viewers nationwide can catch all the action via the special broadcasts on NBC and Peacock from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. in all time zones; an encore of the Macy’s Parade will air from 2-5 p.m. ET.

This year’s parade will boast more than 5,000 volunteers, 16 giant character balloons, 28 floats, 40 novelty and heritage inflatables, more than 700 clowns, 12 marching bands and 10 performance groups and an array of musical stars.

Breaking News Update (11/18/22): The Queen of Christmas is opening this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade! Mariah Carey will welcome the festivities with a magical merry performance, and she will help close the show with a finale performance of her holiday anthem, “All I Want for Christmas Is You”. Ryan Reynolds, Will Ferrell and Octavia Spencer are bringing on the holiday cheer this year with a ‘spirited’ modern retelling of the Charles Dickens classic tale, “A Christmas Carol,” with their brand new Apple Original Film, “Spirited”!

Reynolds stars as Clint Briggs, a miserly misanthrope who’s taken on a magical journey with four ghosts on Christmas Eve, including Ferrell who plays Ghost of Christmas Present.

A teaser came out a few weeks ago, but the official trailer just dropped today and we had to share it right away!  This is not your usual take on this story—it’s jam-packed with high-energy musical numbers for starters.

ABC has revealed this year’s holiday programming schedule and it’s full of Christmas cheer, festive-themed episodes of top shows, Disney magic, and joyful music from some of your favorite voices! The network will kick off its seasonal lineup on November 16th with Thanksgiving episodes of primetime hit shows, and after Turkey Day, the merriment will continue throughout the rest of the year.

The Backstreet Boys will host their very first holiday special, “A Very Backstreet Christmas” where they’ll perform songs from their new album of the same name; EGOT winner John Legend teams up with David Brown, founder of the Columbus, Ohio-based Harmony Project, for “Finding Harmony”—an inspirational one-hour special, and “A CMA Country Christmas” returns with an intimate night full of holiday classics performed by your favorite names in Country music. The 2022 American Music Awards will take place on November 20th while the anticipated “Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration” airs in December!

Disney will simulcast the premiere of “Mickey Saves Christmas” on ABC, Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney XD at 7:00 p.m. EST., and there will be lots more yuletide cheer in store—including the return of the competition show “The Great Christmas Light Fight”, a “Love Actually” cast reunion with ABC News, Disney Parks annual magical celebration specials, Wonderful World of Disney movies that families can enjoy together, and fans of the classic “Home Alone” can enjoy watching the movie on Christmas Eve! The seasonal event wraps up on New Year’s Eve as we ring in 2023 with “Dick Clark New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest”!*

NBC is wasting zero time kicking off the holiday season!  The network has revealed its holiday programming slate already, and it includes a lot of traditions like the beloved “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade” coverage, “Christmas in Rockefeller Center,“ and airings of the classics “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” and “It’s A Wonderful Life”.  NBC will also re-air its Michael Bublé and Kelly Clarkson music specials from last year in addition to the premiere of the highly anticipated movie, “Dolly Parton’s Mountain Magic Christmas” starring iconic country music legend as well as Miley Cyrus, Willie Nelson, “Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon and many others.

Speaking of Cyrus, last year’s inaugural “Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party” was such a hit that it will return this New Year’s Eve, and the singer will be joined by an A-list cast of musicians and celebrities in front of a live audience.

Get in the spirit of the season with Maya Rudolph and Amy Poehler for their “Baking It” holiday special, which will coincide with season two of the baking competition series that will air exclusively on the Peacock streaming service.

We don’t know how you do it in your house, but it’s officially Christmas in our household. We’ve already begun taking down the fall decorations, we’re starting our days with peppermint coffee, there’s jingle jams playing throughout our home and we’re super excited for more holiday movies premiering over the weekend! Hallmark Media and Peacock officially announced today that they were entering a partnership for live streaming and on-demand programming this holiday season as part of a first-of-its-kind linear plus SVOD deal. Starting Wednesday, November 2nd, viewers will be able to watch Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries and Hallmark Drama Christmas movies, including the original premieres from this year’s Countdown to Christmas and Miracles of Christmas slate.

This hub on the Peacock streaming service, which you can sign-up for free with, will feature live simulcasts of all three channels with current season programming available live and on-demand next day as well as a robust library of movies within the Hallmark library.

“As we continue to make Peacock a premium streaming destination, Hallmark is exactly the type of brand we want to align with,” said Kelly Campbell, President of Peacock, and Direct-to-Consumer, NBCUniversal. “Through this groundbreaking partnership, we’re giving Hallmark viewers a unique viewing experience while continuing to grow our audience, boosting engagement across both brands.”

In addition to the live Hallmark channels, Peacock subscribers have access to Hallmark content on demand, including live and next-day access to series like “When Calls the Heart,” plus the new, original primetime series “Ride” and “The Way Home,” premiering in 2023. The Hallmark-branded hub will also include a VOD collection containing new premiere movies and dozens of Hallmark movie classics all included with a Peacock Premium subscription.

Calling all Food Network and HGTV aficionados, discovery+ is helping you get into the holiday swing with four all-new Christmas movies that satisfy your sweet tooth and home decorating interests. Katie Stevens, Victor Rasuk, Vanessa Marano, Alex Mallari Jr., Jessica Szohr, Marco Grazzini, Tiya Sircar and Marc Bendavid will be leading the original holiday films, which will also feature cameos from top network talent including Ben and Erin Napier (HGTV’s Home Town), Bobby Flay (Food Network’s Beat Bobby Flay), Duff Goldman (Food Network’s Ace of Cakes), and Hilary Farr (HGTV’s Love It or List It)!

The full lineup of holiday programming has been revealed, and there’s an abundance of festive cheer throughout the lineups for Disney Channel’s Fa-la-la-lidays and Disney Junior’s Magical Holidays offerings including brand new holiday-themed episodes of “The Villains of Valley View,” “Raven’s Home,” “BUNK’D: Learning the Ropes,” “Big City Greens,” “Marvel’s Spidey and his Amazing Friends,” “Puppy Dog Pals,” “Alice’s Wonderland Bakery,” “Eureka!” and the new series “Firebuds”, which will celebrate both Hanukkah and Christmas.

On Sunday, November 27th, Disney will simulcast the premiere of “Mickey Saves Christmas” on ABC, Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney XD at 7:00 p.m. EST.  The stop-motion holiday special follows Mickey, Minnie and their pals as they attempt to celebrate the perfect Christmas at their snowy cabin. However, when Pluto causes Santa to lose all the presents on his sleigh, the friends travel to the North Pole on a quest to save Christmas and find the true meaning of the holiday.
